Surveillance Secure Secures Washington DC Tunnels
Surveillance Secure of Rockville, Maryland, deployed ISS SecurOS Global video management for the Washington DC municipal authorities. SecurOS manages and monitors the camera systems for two of the most critical thoroughfares in the DC area, including the primary vehicular tunnel underneath the National Mall, amongst the most secure area anywhere in the world, as well as Interstate 395, a major spur connecting the Beltway to downtown Washington.

Pelco Spectra IV cameras with AXIS encoders form the edge camera/encoder network, with all feeds coming into a secure command center in the Washington metro area. All video management, 24/7 monitoring, and all review of archived data is managed by the SecurOS Global framework. Currently a more advanced deployment with SecurOS Auto (License Plate Recognition) and SecurOS Traffic (Traffic Management) are being investigated for a completely automated system. A key advantage of the ISS SecurOS platform includes its capability to scale up both in terms of features at a specific deployment, as well as add new deployments into an integrated solution. The system expandability and advanced event management capabilities were deemed to be an ideal fit for the mission critical deployment in the nation's capital. The capability to scale up to industry leading turnkey analytics has proven to be an added benefit.
